Some good Luv'n

[Seemingly] beloved new hobby: how many different ways can we tell Mom we love her...
Boys' dinner they made last Sunday...egg/tilapia/cheese/rice goolash & buttery veggies. Tasty & so appreciated!

Looks pretty good right? The boys decided to really let their creative juices flow & wanted to try a new dessert: HASH BROWNS w/ cookie crumbs, [agave] chocolate sauce, samoa cookies & the kitchen sink thrown in for an extra oomph (it didn't have enough). Good thing [for them] Tony was there when that decision was made.
My dessert: blueberries w/ delicioso almond cookies (done in the dehydrator & sugar-free!), agave choco sauce & whipped cream.
 From all my boys
Our traditional red dinner was a bit different this year because Jyson is now on a sugar/wheat/pork/beef/dairy FREE diet for a month to see if his illness-induced asthma is really allergy-related. So we had spaghetti (his was rice noodles, which, he informed me tastes like spaghetti-o's & he loved it), grapes, pizza hummus (CCK recipe) w/ red veggies, coconut milk, & heart-shaped dark chocolates w/ nuts (sugar-free, also from Chocolate Covered Katie...Jyson now says she is 'saving' him in the dessert department :)
I am Jyson's 'room mom' so I did the V-day party. Instead of participating in each of the stations, Jyson chose to instead do the "fold a napkin into a red rose" demonstration for his classmates. And let's not forget a special hello to the darling child front & center of this picture, who, in case you are confused, is not Jyson.

Our ward did a service auction (I got 2 nights of free baby-sitting, a meal, a day of canning w/ someone & a lesson on how to make cinnamon/artisan specialty breads!) & so I used one of the free baby-sitters the Saturday before so I could surprise Tony & take him to the Sweetheart's dinner/dance in town. Sadly, the atmosphere was more alcohol & smoke than romance so instead we used a gift card from Christmas to go out to dinner while I asked him all sorts of questions from our 'love card deck' & then went to the grocery store--sans kids. Actual V-day Tony filled out our taxes for us :) , we tried yet again to visit the elusive elderly lady down the street (who apparently has more of a social calendar than we do) & then he had to work super uber late because he came home in the middle of the day so I could do Jyson's party. Love is all about sacrificing for the good of the colony so I guess we succeeded in that department for the day!
