Night Wars at Half-Awake

For those who have slept in a room with Tony, the following disclosure will likely not surprise you. Everyone else, here's a little skeleton from our closet to yours.
My theory about Tony's sleep habits is that he never goes into a deep enough sleep to warrant normal sleep behaviors--you know, lying there, maybe turning over a couple times, a little snore or snuffle, but largely immobile throughout the night. Ha! Tony surprises me (or scares me witless) almost nightly. I admit, I thoroughly enjoy telling him of his antics the following morning as he can never seem to remember them.
I'll go to get out of bed to take care of the baby only to be yanked back by my drawers by my loving husband. He demands I answer his nonsense questions, he sits up & throws pillows. Yes, the scenarios are endless. Little did he know I was building up my own subconscious resentment for my many 'mistreatments'...
My exhausted body finally fell asleep after helping the sick babe one too many times that fateful night. In Tony's version he says I suddenly leaned over & viciously poked him in his eyeball for no reason. *My addendum includes that I'm sure he was doing something to me first so my sleep-deprived self automatically retaliated, causing him more pain than his circadian rhythm could maintain, therefore startling him into at least part-wakefulness.*
Fast-foward a few minutes & I'm half awake, rustling around for the misplaced sheet. No luck. What about at the very end of the bed, where it's tucked into the mattress? Nope. What the? Little did I know Tony was on his side of the bed maniacally whisper-giggling about the success of his half-awake plot of revenge. He sure showed me!
The next morning as I asked about the mysterious missing sheet I looked up to discover it over by the closet?  As Tony related to me the story of his injury & happily told me he then yanked the sheet out of the bed I wrinkled in confusion & asked, "Why?" He paused, all at once, looking totally dumbfounded, "I have no idea."
And thus concludes this night war...

In honor of Uncle Devy-Poo

Uncle Devin has been serving a mission in Cape Town, South Africa for the past 2 years. He was the very best buddy/baby-sitter the boys had when we were in Idaho (other than Nana)! They love him so much & have missed him greatly. He was able to come spend Spring Break here with us & oh, boy did we have the agenda for him! The boys made a list of all the things they wanted to do (pics above). Events done, not pictured: made snowflakes :),  bug hunted, played laser tag, regular tag, rode bikes, caramel popcorn/movie night, Tincaps baseball game, FHE by Devin, picture-viewing of his mission, lots o' love n' tickling! Are these boys lucky or what? My favorite was having someone to converse with during the day :) It was just fantastic to hear him talk & realize wow, he's certainly not the same little brother that left...he's matured & grown so much. We're proud of him & love him oodles!

A nest, a carnival & homemade tortillas

To late to save our birdies, (it fell from the tree) we went the educational route & took them to school (along with the frog's 'habitat' the boys created)
Jaydon's teachers (they job-share) Mrs. Bokhart & Snyder
Who wouldn't want to stick their hand up a 'nose' into green goo to claim their prize? Gross. And of all the games, guess who was assigned to wo-man this station?
It worked on our first try, & the best part? We made it a family activity with the boys rolling them out using PVC pipe (thanks to ShaRee for the idea)
Aw, can't I help?

Conference + Easter = Our Weekend!

Saturday: A little Pre-Conference preparation activity...
Food--check, couch cushions in front of computer for maximum comfort, check, conference packet, check check--ready to snack, snuggle, and get spiritual!!
Mid conference activity: Easter hunt!! Quick, cram in all the eggs I can before I'm stopped...who needs a bag (bags instead of baskets, works for me)? On to the backyard...
The spoils of our Easter war (it was raining so we worked HARD for our goods)

Back to conference we go...

We had a great weekend & were truly uplifted. This time I helped the boys write something down beforehand that they hoped to learn from conference & they were tons better about filling out their packets. Jaydon even said, "this was my best conference ever!"

Sunday we watched the little video about Christ on the Church's website, watched conference, I took a mini nap w/ babe while Tony & the boys microwaved mallows on a plate to see them blow up, ate, watched more conference, celebrated Easter with the favorite Tilapia dinner, and then...

Voila! My newest pride & joy (righteous pride, obviously)--our first, annual real 96-hr kit final assemblage & explanation took place last night. I know, you're probably thinking, "what took you so long?" and it's true, it only took me 8 years (the boys' age) to get these real bad-boys organized & in place. Previously all we had were the fake-ish-type kits with just enough calorie bar to take a nibble for breakfast, lunch & dinner & a first-aid kit that would only take care of a 1 inch scratch. But, no MORE! Tony smiled [mostly] indulgently as I explained why we might possibly need a rope, Sudoku puzzles, & bags in 3 sizes, etc. Tornado? Come & get us, we will grab the packs & make a break for it 110% prepared!

Music Celebration

These are the honest-to-goodness best pictures from the boys' school music performance (the camera & I were in a fight & you can see who won)

After being so good during the whole show, we gotta get some energy out--super heroes unite!
